All of our products are made with simple ingredients, free of detergents and parabens. Our soaps are made using the cold process method from scratch and not from soap bases, which means, we know exactly what goes in every small batch.
That’s all that is needed to make soap. Seriously.
We use a variety of oils and butters to improve moisture absorption, lather, cleansing properties and even how long a bar lasts.
Lye (or sodium hydroxide) sounds a bit scary, but no soap is made without it. It is the reaction between the lye and the oils that produces soap. Once that reaction (called saponification) is complete, all of the lye is converted into soap; there is no lye remaining in the finished soap bar.
We only used distilled water in our soaps and sometimes we use goat milk in place of distilled water for those wanting creamier experience with extra sensitive skin.
